I'm attuned to the work itself as well as the artist behind that work. When I describe an artist, I first seek to understand them, their motivations and the subtle influences which manifest in how they exist at this moment in time. Conveying who you are on the page gives your work a better chance to shine. And may even remind you who you are, lest you forget.
